| Tips To Help You Light Up Your Holidays..
For me the holidays mean candles. Maybe not on the Christmas tree like times of yore, but everywhere else. If your regular candle holders are inadequate for a true spectacle of lights try these tricks: |

| Use large bowls or clear vases filled with white rice and dotted with fresh cranberries. The rice works like sand and will change any shaped container into a flat adjustable surface. Use pillar candles of different heights in either all red or white. If your candles are all the same height, bury some deeper in the rice. Rock salt can be used in the same way for a snowy effect. Use a little silver glitter or metallic confetti for added whimsy. Instead of bowls try wine goblets or martini glasses with votives or small ball candles. If you have plenty of candle holders, but they lack holiday sparkle add beaded garland. You can weave strands of beaded garland through simple votive holders for an eye catching centerpiece. Or wined them up candelabras and through chandeliers, as if they were growing there. Beaded candle rings placed at the base of candle plates and atop candle sticks is a quick and easy way to add a little Holiday glamor. If you?re not much of a cook, but love the ambiance of holiday baking, I have the perfect candle for you. It's beautiful to look at, covered in dried apple rings and cinnamon sticks, but its the smell that will draw you in. They say scent is our strongest link to memories, and this one will take you to Grandma's kitchen on baking day for sure. I hope this goes without saying, burn the candles. Dusty old candles are not attractive. Its the glow of the flame dancing and reflecting that brings the magic. Its the warm scent that brings out sweet memories of Christmas' and Hanukkah' past. |
